Private lessons – The Lygo Scholarship
Through the legacies of Charles Lygo, Betty Grandy and Jean Tunbridge, competitive scholarship awards are available to current and continuing Academy students in the areas of voice, piano, strings, guitar, woodwinds and brass. The value of a scholarship is $150-400.
The Joanne Patricia Stoutjesdyk Memorial Scholarship is a competitive award for classical music students pursuing a teaching career in music at an accredited college or university. The value of the award is $400.
The 89.5 The Drive First- and Second-Year Post-Secondary Music Scholarships and the 89.5 The Drive Bursaries are no longer available. Our thanks go to 89.5 The Drive for their support of the Chilliwack Academy of Music.
Through ongoing fundraising by the Chilliwack Academy of Music, we’re pleased to offer Bursaries for Music Lessons. Bursaries are awarded based on financial need to low-income families and students. The value of a bursary can be up to 50% of the cost of private music lessons, and is applied directly to the cost of lessons.
Applications and Deadline
Scholarship and bursary applications are available for download, from your Academy teacher, or from the Academy office and the deadline for submission is April 3 at 4:30pm.
