For string instrument lessons, the Academy is the obvious choice. A wonderful group of violin, viola, cello and guitar instructors who care about each student’s personal progress and have the training and years of experience to make great things happen are ready to help you start or continue your musical journey.
Classical training in violin, viola and cello is available in traditional and Suzuki approaches. Enrolment in private lessons for these instruments includes a weekly group class for a minimal charge, which will help you learn the vital skills of playing not just on your own but in a group. String groups perform twice per year for each other at the Ensembles Concert.
Classical and popular private lessons for guitar, banjo, or ukulele are also available. Several enrichment options can enhance these lessons and get you started in a group to jam or perform with. Look under “Classes” for the many great groups on offer from the Academy!
The cost of lessons depends on the teacher’s rate, the length of time per lesson, and the number of lessons left in the term. In 2017-18 the cost of lessons is $30.00 per half hour.
Contact administration at [email protected] or 604.792.0790 (ext. 1) to register for lessons or group class. Payment for the whole term is arranged upon registration.
The Registrar will help find a day and time that is suitable for both you and the teacher. Your slot is reserved once payment has been arranged. Slots are booked on a first-come first-served basis.
Exams and Recitals
